I’ve been reading “The Magic of Thinking Big” by David J Schwartz, a and came across this inspirational quote.
We need from every man who aspired to leadership – for himself and his company – a determination to undertake a personal program of self-development. Nobody is going to order a man to develop…Whether a man lags behind or moves ahead in his specialty is a matter of his own personal application. This is something which takes time, work, and sacrifice. Nobody can do it for you. – Ralph J. Cordiner, President of General Electric
How true it is. Nobody taught me or guided me through the journey of self-development. I had to learn it through suffering. Now I’m catching up for lost time, but I’m so inspired and positive about learning every day, and all the knowledge I am absorbing is making me a better, more competitive person.
Learning has to be in our DNA. I watch so much less TV these days as I don’t have enough hours in the day to fit in all the reading and learning I want to do, but over time all the little droplets of knowledge are contributing to a greater whole.
